It’s safe to say it was not love at first sight. Far from it in fact. She was an American girl skeptical of Australians (unfairly, it should be noted) and he was just a kind, honest, Jewish boy looking to experience life and perhaps find love in the US (if, as a result, he happened to secure a US Greencard via marriage, that would be a bonus).  
Fast forward three years and after countless backgammon games/fights, long-haul flights to opposite ends of the world, a small wirehaired dog called Bernard, and a one year (and counting) stint living with parents, Callie and Steve are tying the knot and preparing to spend the rest of their lives together.
